Update
on Originals site & Launch.
Putting this site together and getting it up
and running has been quite a challenge and has taken a bit longer
than first envisaged. The impetus which led me to create this site,
came from my interest
and background in Art and the difficulty I had finding suitable
pieces of Original Art when I bought my first house.
As a busy woman,
working long hours, in the centre of London, with a hectic social
life and many weekend commitments, I found it difficult
finding the time to visit art galleries. If I did find the time
one Saturday afternoon to visit a gallery I often found that
there was a limited choice of work. Either because it was a solo
exhibition,
it was a mixed exhibition but the styles were very similar, it
was a small gallery or because the price range of the work on
offer was too high. I, like many of my friends also found it a
little
intimidating going into a small gallery and possible embarrassed
about my possible lack of artistic appreciation and funds.
The Originals e-gallery, I hope offers the potential
customer the opportunity:
- to visit a gallery without having to leave
their
home /desk
- to browse through a range of art with
a variety of styles & techniques,
without feeling intimidated
- to feel comfortable about asking
questions or making enquiries via email or telephone
- to be given
help and inspiration with regard to choosing the right piece
of art
- to be able to view Original art for sale at a range
of prices
With thanks to a talented web designer, Scott
Hortop, the
site is extremely functional, easy to use, clear and inviting and
is almost ready to launch.
The next step for me will be the marketing
and promotion of the site. I have many plans and ideas for this
but sadly I’m
still lacking in the amount of Ceramic art and Sculpture the site
has on offer and I don’t want to start any major marketing
campaigns until I have at least a few more pieces uploaded.
I am currently looking for suitable artists and pieces of work
for these 2 categories and hope to have enough work loaded by late
March. I will then update you all on my marketing plans, the launch
and hopefully SALES from the site.
