These
are the terms & conditions set by the agent for the exhibition
and sale of art through the originals website. Special alterations
or exceptions could be made to these terms but these must be agreed
in writing between the artist and the agent in advance of any sale.
SUPPLY
OF IMAGES
Digital Images to be emailed or sent on CD, in J-peg or tiff
format. Alternatively good quality colour prints of art work will
be accepted.
Paintings - image to include frames where appropriate.
Ceramics & Glassware - should be photographed on a plain background
Sculpture & Garden art - should be photographed in appropriate
surroundings but art work should be clear & well presented.
INFORMATION
The
artist should supply a title,a short narrative describing the piece
and its inspiration.The price including or excluding commission
(see below), the medium & technique used and dimensions.
CATEGORISATION
There will be no limit on the number of images the artist can supply
to the agent, but the decision to exhibit and how the pieces are
displayed on the site will be at the agent’s discretion.
The categorisation in terms of style of the piece is ultimately
the agent’s decision but the opinions of the artist will be
considered.
AGENT’S
PROMISE
The agent will promise to actively promote each piece of art uploaded
on to the site but the methods used to promote the site and the
artists work and the marketing strategy will be solely at the agent's
discretion.
EXCLUSIVITY
The agent does not require exclusive rights to the sale of the artists
work but the agent does require notice of any sales within 48 hours.
COMMISSION
Originals
offers the artists 2 ways of doing business:
The
artist fixes a display price which includes 30% agents commission.
OR
The artist informs the agent, in writing, of the price, in £st,
required for the piece of art excluding commission. The display
price will be the artists recommended price plus the agent’s
commission. The amount of commission added will vary between 5%
and 30%, depending on the market or on special features and offers
made by the agent.
PAYMENTS
Full payments will be made from the customer to the agent before
the work is dispatched. On safe receipt of the work by the the customer,
the agent will forward the requested payment to the artist.
DELIVERY
The best method of delivery to be agreed between agent, customer
& artist upon agreement of sale. Cost of delivery to be charged
to the customer.
PACKING
The artist will be responsible for the safe packing of the item.
The art must be packaged so that it is unlikely to be lost or damaged
in transit. This should include packing the item in suitable packaging
with the necessary supports and sealed tightly with suitable strength
packing tape. Any paintings, drawings or prints framed in glass
should be properly taped. All corners should be protected and packages
marked as ‘FRAGILE”. The full delivery address, contact
name & number of the recipient should be marked clearly on the
outside of the package.
